Part of the portable flight planning syste (pfps), a system who provides portable mission planning capability. Used to load mission and initialization flight data files onto the data transfer cartridge(dtc) and mega data transfer cartridge(mdtc) and download post-flight data (stored during flight) from the dtc and mdtc. An intelligent interface to the personal computer host via a parallel (centronics) or serial (rs-232) communications port. Consists of interface unit card, battery, dtc receptacles and cables.
